From the Editor
As this issue was in layout, we learned the sad news that Keith Frye, half of the team that ‘drove’ TravellerCON/USA and the originator of the idea, lost his battle with cancer, and has joined the ranks of Absent Friends.
In the years that I attended TravellerCON/USA with him, Keith had never been less than a gentleman, never losing his temper, never even showing upset when things went wrong, but always looking for a way to keep the Con fun for all. I spent many hours talking with him on many subjects, and found a kindred spirit, interested in subjects from science to religion and philosophy to politics to … I don’t think I ever hit a subject on which he could not converse knowledgeably and enthusiastically. I will miss having him as a friend; I am glad I had a chance to know him as one.
Megan, his wife and the other half of the TCUSA team, has stated
that TravellerCON/USA 2023 will happen. She says that Keith
would have wanted it that way. The Kickstarter is anticipated to “go
live” in May; please watch for further information on the
Traveller subreddit, on the Mongoose forums, on the
Citizens of the Imperium forums, and on the Traveller Mailing List.
Post-publication note: The Reddit antispambots have decided that Freelance Traveller is a spammer, and have deleted our entire participation on Reddit. We will therefore not be announcing anything on the Traveller subreddit.
