As I write this, TravellerCON/USA 2021 will be occurring just a month from now, and as its theme will be Hivers, I did my best to make the theme of this issue of Freelance Traveller the same. I could have wished for more Hiver articles, but… I have to admit that writing Hiver stuff isn’t easy.
About TravellerCON/USA… It’s happening. Really. October 8-10. We have a new site (the Doubletree Lancaster), Charles “Chuck” Gannon will be attending (there will be a panel discussion Friday evening), and Marc Miller will be joining us via Zoom for a Q&A on Saturday. There’s still time to register for the convention; go to https://travellercon-usa.com and click on the Registration link. Please note that ‘walk-ins’ will not be allowed this year; you must register in advance. We will also be conforming to covid protocols; please be prepared to prove your vaccination status.
I need to apologize for this issue being late: the two weeks before I post this were absolutely crazy and stress-inducing at my job; there were days where I came home from work and crawled right into bed just to hide from the world. You don’t deserve to pay a price for my job’s errors, but that’s what happened. I’m sorry about that, and while I can’t guarantee it won’t happen again… I’ll do my best.
I think I’d like to do a Theme Issue some time next year, on the topic of Minor Races. Please write and submit material—for any section—that highlights a minor race and what makes their contribution to the Traveller milieu interesting.
