From the Editor

TravellerCON/USA 2023 was fun, and went off well, thanks to a tireless crew. The theme for next year’s TravellerCON/USA has been decided, and it is that which prompt this issue’s From the Editor: The Ancients. The Ancients are one of Traveller’s longstanding enigmas, and trying to come up with a Theme Issue centered on them is not going to be a walk in the park. I encourage people to come up with ideas, especially ideas beyond just adventures that result in the PCs finding Ancient artifacts.

I don’t usually push commercial efforts in Freelance Traveller, but because of some serendipity of theme and because I’ve seen the prototype, I’m going to strongly encourage my readers to back the Kickstarter for To Honor Grandfather, a Traveller and Ancients-themed dice game. As I indicated in my after-action report for TravellerCON/USA 2022, it’s a good game, and I’d hate to see this Kickstarter fail. As I write this, there’s just under two weeks and $6,000 to go; please back it if you haven’t, and if you have, please see if you can find it in yourself and your wallet to increase your pledge.

Editor’s note on posting of the following issue: The Kickstarter was fully funded. Thank you to everyone who pledged!
