Garm-class Bulk Carrier
designed by Peter Gray
Overview
The Garm Bulk Carrier is an outgrowth of several
design specs issued during the 1040s by Vilani megacorps. Though these companies
eventually took a pass on the design for hulls of their own manufacture, the
original manufacturer in Old Expanses sector recouped their losses by licensing
the class to mid-sized carriers. The versatility and huge cargo capacity of
the class made it extremely popular, and it became an Imperial Design Package
in 1069, one of the few bulk carriers ever to have that status. The class was
popular for conversion into other roles, including the
Garm 2 tanker and the Fenris
pocket carrier. The Garm is based upon the
Fenris Pocket Carrier description of a "commercial
conversion."
