Overview
The original medical skiff was a straight adaptation of existing civilian 20 ton skiffs, and its performance left a lot to be desired. After incurring heavy losses among its flight medics during the early stages of the Fifth Frontier War, and desiring better triage times for wounded soldiers and spacers, the Imperial militaries issued a joint specification for a newer model with better acceleration, atmospheric performance and expanded medical facilities. Cuxhaven-Kuushgaara LIC, the original manufacturer of the ubiquitious Camel Skiff, won the design competition in 1111. Boasting an airframe hull, 3G acceleration and enough stretcher space for 21 wounded, it was quickly accepted into Imperial service. During the Civil War/Rebellion thousands of these craft served along the primary battlefronts between Dulinor and Lucan. These craft are often assigned to the Kurgilash Medical Scouts, drawing additional medics from the scout crew during major operations.
