Overview

The Bocage is one of several classes of Lighter intended for the Coriolis Type B. It is a military craft designed to carry up to 30 troops for rapid insertion missions against surface and lightly defended space targets. Like most Type B lighters, the Bocage was developed from the similiar Chapparal-class Insystem Yacht. The vessel is manned and staffed when docked to a maneuvering Coriolis, and the engineering crew is seconded to the mothership's command system. A ventral airlock in the engineering section mates up with a compatible docking collar located near the Coriolis' engineering section, allowing for free access between the two ships. To provide additional protection against ground fire, an electrostatic armor unit is fitted, and can be used against proximity targets with often devastating results. The cargo space is often fitted for decoys, deadfall ordinance "kicked" out of the hold by parachutes, additional seats, triage facilities or any manner of different kinds equipment imaginable to special ops troops.
