The CN/A-D (Containers A through D) Tug is a small tug commonly used to transport cargo containers from holding areas, to and from starships and non-starships alike as well as crew to and from cargo containers, or ships. The CN/A-D Tug is usually carried aboard large vessels, especially major freightliners, passenger liners, and military vessels of 1,000 tons or more. The CN/A-D Tug may also be aboard any one of the larger containers, which often serve as repair or fueling stations for small craft. The CN/A-D Tug is equipped with magnetic grapples to dock with ships or cargo containers, and is equipped with a sealed environmental access hatch for transferring of personnel.
