Notes:
The Akari class scout is used exclusively by the Imperial Navy and Imperial Interstellar Scout Service as a passive scout useful for deep penetration, recon and scouting missions. Apart from the standard sensor suite built into the ships bridge, it carries a powerful and expensive sensor and electronic warfare suite, typically found on ships MUCH larger.
The Akari typically jumps into the outer system, then relies on its stealth and greater sensor range to remain hidden. From this vantage, it can perform reconnaissance missions without being discovered. Powerful active sensors and jammers, along with long legs (6G plus) will allow the Akari to avoid confrontation even it is discovered or observed.
Over 300 Akari class scouts have been constructed, and many are assigned to trouble spots of the Imperium, such as the Spinward Marches and the Solomani Rim. They are not available for sale to civilians, and any civilians caught in the posession of these ships would have some questions to answer (if they were caught...)
