Dirtside II: Zyran Thunders

The Zyran Thunders are a mercenary company from the Traveller scenario Thunder on Zyra (JTAS #11). They are intended as a security force for a megacorporate installation. Air defense and armor are supplied by their employers.

TO&E:

3 Platoons Mech infantry - each 5 APCs, 8 rifle teams, 2 GMS/L teams (ENHANCED guidance). Points value 740/platoon.

Company HQ/Heavy Weapons platoon - 1 Command APC, 2 weapons carrier sleds with GMS/H and APSW dismount team, 2 weapons carrier sleds with RAM mortar (Light Artillery) and extra ammunition load. Points value 727.

All troops are LINE-equipped. 20 vehicles, 32 dismount stands. Total points value 2800.

Basic APC:

MEDIUM vehicle (class 3), FAST GEV mobility, HMT power, Armour 3.
1xMDC/2 in turret with ENHANCED FireCon; 2xAPSW (1 coax).
ENHANCED ECM, capacity for 2 infantry teams.
Basic/Effective Signature 3 (D8).
POINTS VALUE 116 (plus cost of infantry carried)

Basic APC; a hoverchassis with a VRF Gaussgun turret. The eight-man passenger compartment is a standard module, which can be replaced with other modules for variants. One of the APSWs can be dismounted for use by dismounted infantry (changes one rifle team to an APSW team).

Command Vehicle:

MEDIUM vehicle (class 3), FAST GEV mobility, HMT power, Armour 3.
1xMDC/2 in turret with ENHANCED FireCon; 1xAPSW (coax).
ENHANCED ECM, APFC, COMMAND POST.
Basic/Effective Signature 3 (D8).
POINTS VALUE 221.

An APC with the passenger compartment module replaced by a command post module.

Weapons-carrier Sled:

SMALL vehicle (class 2), FAST GEV mobility, HMT power, Armour 1.
BASIC ECM, capacity 10 (see weapons fit notes below).
Basic/Effective Signature 2 (D10).
POINTS VALUE 39 (plus cost of outfitting)

A basic military hovertruck, lightly armored against small-arms fire. Used as a general-purpose vehicle. The Zyran Thunders use the following fits:

Mortar Carrier: 1xRAM Mortar (light artillery), 1xAPSW. Capacity for one extra ammunition load.
POINTS VALUE 99 (plus ammunition load).

Infantry Weapons Sled: 1xGMS/H (ENHANCED guidance), 1xAPSW. 1xAPSW dismount team. POINTS VALUE 104 (plus dismount team).
